Part of each session is used to prepare your child for school by working in groups of one to eight with a qualified teacher in order to develop pre-school and social skills further. We have consulted local infant schools and based on their advice we teach them the first principles of the phonic alphabet and handwriting in order that they are prepared for the best possible start when they go to school. The work is tailored to each child’s ability and level of willingness to participate, to ensure that children are not pressured in any way but learn at their own pace. Although this is aimed predominantly at the older children, any child that we feel will benefit from these sessions will be included.

Please feel free to ask to see the folders used during these sessions and also the more general work that your child does as this will help to show what progress your child is making. Open mornings will also be held when you can discuss your child’s progress with their key worker.
